April 6, 2017
The owner's of Wild Island Family Adventure Park (Wild Island) are pleased to announce expansions at both Coconut Bowl and Wild Island Water Park. "We're really excited to be in a position to grow," said Gary Nelson, vice-president."We've listened to our guests and decided to go to the next level of family-friendly entertainment."
Construction is scheduled to begin this May on a 50,000-square foot expansion of Coconut Bowl. The expansion will include six additional bowling lanes, private party rooms, an outdoor patio and seating area and a two-story laser tag arena. A new-to-our-area black light go-kart course will also be built indoors and will feature battery powered go-karts. The current kiddie track will be moved indoors as well for year-round enjoyment. The redemption and video arcade will be expanded with brand new games and technology. Construction is expected to be completed next summer and Coconut Bowl will remain open during construction.
"The expansion is something we've talked about for some time," said Craig Buster, Coconut Bowl general manager. "We're doing some things that are totally unique and we hope our guests will be as excited as we are."
At Wild Island Waterpark, construction recently began on a brand-new water slide. The slide has been named "G-Force." It is unlike any slide in the park and it promises to be a big hit with guests when the park opens for the 2017 summer season. Also for this summer, Calypso Café will be upgraded, redesigned and renamed the "Island Bistro," offering new foods like Panini's and specialty fries. Guests will also be able to order some of Aruba Café's most popular items at the new Island Bistro. Having recently been ranked the 9th best waterpark in the country by the Travel Channel, the Waterpark is scheduled to open May 19, weather permitting.
"We are looking forward to the 2017 season and the enjoyment Wild Island brings to the families of our community," said Scott Carothers, Wild Island Waterpark general manager. I'm certain G-Force will put new smiles on a lot of faces!"
