A funeral for Arnold Robles Sanchez, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 11 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mr. Sanchez died Nov. 29, 2000, in Carson City. He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Tucson, Ariz., to Fernanco and Emilia Robles Sanchez.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in West Virginia.
Mr. Sanchez retired as a major in the U.S. Army. He then went to Portland, Ore., where he worked as a health inspector for 10-15 years and then Las Vegas where he was a tour guide for Grayline Bus. He was an avid bowler and belonged to the Retired Officers Club.
He served in World War II and the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie and brother Richard.
Among his survivors are his sons Arnold Kade and Paul, both of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter Jennifer Christianson of Camas, Wash.; brother Manuel of Tucson; sisters Mary Lee of Las Vegas, Mary Escalante of Julian, Calif., Olivia Robles of El Cajon, Calif., and Velma Katz of San Diego, Calif. and four grandchildren.
Burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
