Obituary: Loel Rae Armstrong Sipes O'Brien

A memorial for Loel Rae Armstrong Sipes O'Brien, 63, a Carson City resident since 1991, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Ms. O'Brien died Dec. 22, 2000, at Carson Health Care. She was born May 9, 1937, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Homer F. Armstrong and Mary A. Baldwin.

Prior to living in Carson City, she resided in the Reno/Sparks area.

Ms. O'Brien was a night auditor for Days Inn Motel.

Among her survivors are her mother, Mary E. McDonald Parmenter of Carson City; son Les Sipes of Seattle and adopted sons Richard Sipes and Randall Sipes, both of Reno; daughters Brenda Kishpaugh, Colleen Woll, Geneva Martinkus and adopted daughter Evelyn Filer, all of Reno; brother Robert Armstrong of England; sisters Alice Williams of Bolder, Colo., and Carolyn Armstrong of Vallejo, Calif., and 22 grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
