Rubie I. Hughes, 74, a Silver Springs resident for the past two years and former Woodfords resident, died Nov. 1, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Murray, Utah, to Clyde Robert and Vera Ione Smith Wagstaff.
Mrs. Hughes was a "Grandmother" at Silver Springs Christian Academy. She was a member of the Silver Springs Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde in 1988.
Among her survivors are her daughter Katherine Kelley of Silver Springs; son Guy Rex Edward of Salida, Colo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice in her name.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
