Bureau of Land Management seeking to fill positions

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking nominations to fill several positions on its three Resource Advisory Councils in Nevada.

Bob Abbey, BLM Nevada state director, said the nomination process will remain open until the close of business on Thursday.

Four positions are up for appointment on the Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin council for persons representing four categories: Transportation and Rights-of-Way, Archaeology, Recreation and the Public at Large.

This council generally meets in the Winnemucca-Reno-Carson City area. Nominations should be forwarded to Mark Struble, BLM, Carson City Field Office, 5665 Morgan Hill Road, Carson City NV 89701.

The six positions up for appointment on the Mojave-Southern Great Basin RAC include members representing Mining, Wild horses and Burros, Permitted Recreation, Archaeology and History, Native American and Elected Official. Nominations should be forwarded to Phillip Guerrero, BLM Las Vegas Field Office, 4765 Las Vegas Drive, Las Vegas NV 89108. This RAC holds meetings in Las Vegas and in Nye, Lincoln and Esmeralda counties.
