Kids race against drugs set for weekend

All children between the ages of 7 and 12 are welcome to enter the Kids Race Against Drugs Saturday and Sunday at the Kmart store parking lot, 3456 N. Carson St.

The event is to help fight drug and alcohol abuse in the community. A fun, family-oriented event, kids can drive a miniature race car for free in the parking lot. For each kid that races, Kmart will donate $5 to the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada to help fight drug and alcohol abuse.

One child from each age group could win a trip to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the national championship. Those winners will drive away with a $10,000 college scholarship.
