New regulations for Carson River

Fishermen are reminded of a new regulation this year that affects a portion of the East Carson River in California.

That portion extends from Hangman's Bridge, just outside of Markleeville, Calif., downstream to the California-Nevada stateline.

That area now is restricted to "zero limit" (catch and release) fishing only.

Fishing is also restricted to the use of artificial flies or lures with barbless hooks.
