Obituary: Elizabeth Holmes

A funeral for Elizabeth M. Holmes, 77, a Loveland, Colo. resident, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Allnutt Hunter Chapel, with the Rev. Harvey Ruegsegger officiating.

Mrs. Holmes died Sept. 29, 1999, at North Shore Manor. She was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Pottsville, Pa., to Francis and Anna McMahon Lawless.

She married Loyde J. Holmes Aug. 6, 1962, in Farmington, N.M. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1993.

She graduated from high school and from a one-year business school, both in Philadelphia.

She lived in Bishop, Calif., until 1960, and in Carson City from 1981-1993. She moved to Loveland in 1993.

Mrs. Holmes was a past Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was involved in the Lion's Club and very active in school activities while her children were in school. She was also a 4-H leader and enjoyed reading.

Among her survivors are her sons and wives, Kenneth and Gayle Church, of Montrose, Colo.; Robert and Diana Church of Bishop and Randy and Kim Church, of Loveland; daughter and husband, Maureen and Greg Hess of Gordon Neb.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Allnut Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
