A memorial service for Mary E. Murphy, 61, a Carson City resident for the past two years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Carson City.
Mrs. Murphy died Jan. 18, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born March 24, 1938, in Fresno, Calif., to Roy and Larue L. Price Murphy.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Fresno for most of her life.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales and spending time with her family. She was a Protestant.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy Murphy and brother Jack Murphy.
Among her survivors are her mother Larue Vernon; daughters Victoria Hopkins and Nancy Atkinson, both of Carson City, Patricia Todd of Abilene, Tex., and Susan Atkinson and Donna Atkinson, both of Fresno; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
