Soroptimist's host comedy night Saturday at Ormsby House

Soroptimist International of Carson City presents "One Night Stand," its fourth annual comedy night fund-raiser Saturday at the Ormsby House Hotel/Casino.

The evening features nationally known comedians Susan Rice and Pat Mac.

Rice began her comedy career in 1983 in Portland, Ore. She is known for a wacky, self-revealing routine usually directed at herself and complemented by her trademark physical comedy.

Rice has appeared on the Leeza Gibbons Show, A&E "An Evening at the Improv" and George Schlatter's Comedy Club. She has also been the headliner at major comedy venues across the country.

Mac is a native of Boise, Idaho, and found his love for stand-up comedy as a class clown in high school and college.

He took his talents to the stage in 1995 and has been making the crowds laugh ever since. His comedy is based on personal observations and a hysterical look at his life. Mac has also performed at clubs all over the country.

"One Night Stand" begins with no-host cocktails and appetizers at 6:30 p.m., the comedy show is at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 at Kennedy's Books in Carson City or call Tracy at 882-0202. Tickets are $25 at the door. All proceeds support Soroptimist International of Carson City service projects and scholarships.
