All Flights Grounded at Reno/Tahoe International Airport

Reno/Tahoe International Airport was advised at 7 a.m. by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) that all aircraft are grounded due to the apparent terrorist attacks earlier this morning on the East Coast. All inbound aircraft were diverted to the nearest airport.

Reno/Tahoe International Airport has taken one inbound diversion:

- United Airlines 737 traveling from Denver to San Francisco

Earlier outbound flights from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport arrived safely at the destinations:

-Southwest Airlines Reno to San Jose

-United Airlines Reno to San Francisco

Currently, the north and south concourses have been closed. It is anticipated that the airport terminal will soon be closed

The Airport requests that anyone requiring airline information contact the airlines directly via their 800 telephone numbers, not at Reno/Tahoe International.

Reno/Tahoe International Airport has taken necessary steps to heighten its level of security.

The Airport has 83 daily departures to 16 non-stop cities.
