Obituary: Neva Dick Murphy

A memorial service for Neva Dick Murphy, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 21 years, will be at 11 a.m. May 11 at the Murphy residence.

Mrs. Murphy died April 19, 2002, in Carson City. She was born Sept. 4, 1924, in Murchison, Texas, to Sherman Patrick and Edna Geneva Carnes Ledbetter.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California.

Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker. She loved playing bridge and was involved in bridge clubs while living in California. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and she loved to read. She was an Episcopalian.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Frank J. Murphy in 1999.

Among her survivors are her sons Joel R. of Carson City and Michael of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and daughter Patricia E. Murphy of Carson City.
