Cricket Communications and KTVN Channel 2 teamed to allow Cricket customers to dial *2 to call breaking news stories to the station 24 hours a day.
The calls will be directly routed to the KTVN newsroom, said Jonathan Weinberg, general manager of Cricket Communications.
Cricket service is provided by Leap, a wireless company based in San Diego.
