A memorial service for Daniel James Moreno, 23, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
He died Dec. 10, 2002, in Silver Springs. He was born Aug. 6, 1979, in Oakland, Calif., to Oscar D. and Janet Odoms Moreno.
He graduated from Carson High School in 1997.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Oakland, Calif.
Mr. Moreno worked at Kmart and the Eagle Valley Golf Course. He enjoyed dancing, was an avid music fan, and was working toward becoming a disc jockey. He loved the oldies and was a fan of rapper Tupac Shakur.
Among his survivors are his parents of Carson City; paternal grandmother, Matilda Leon of Newark, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Xyza Odoms of Portland, Ore.; and sister, Yolanda Nash of Carson City.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
