Accused Gardnerville man in possession of child porn has court date set

William Kelly Jones, charged with 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography, is scheduled to appear in court Monday to enter a plea.

In Judge Jim EnEarl's court Wednesday, Jones, 47, a Gardnerville resident, waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

"It means the case is going to be adjudicated," EnEarl said. "It's not going to be lessened to a misdemeanor."

Jones' lawyer, Tod Young, said Jones would plea to five counts of possession of child pornography at Monday's court hearing.

Cris Brown, a deputy district attorney, said the negotiation is that Jones will plead to five counts, but the guilty plea has not been entered yet.

Possession of child pornography is a level B felony, punishable by one to six years in the Nevada State Prison.

Jones' hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in District Judge Michael Gibbons' court.
