Amber Alert issued for missing 5-year-old Pasadena boy

PASADENA, Calif. -- A 5-year-old boy was abducted from his grandmother's home Saturday and may be in imminent danger, police said.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Hector Jesus Gonzalez, who was last seen at 12:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue in Pasadena.

Hector is 3-feet and weighs 45 pounds. Authorities said he was wearing a dark blue sweater, a light blue shirt with horizontal stripes, and blue sweat pants.

The only suspect is the boy's mother, Lourdes Caro Hernandez, but a stranger also could have kidnapped him, said Lt. Eric Mills of the Pasadena Police Department.

"Nobody saw him being picked up. That's the problem," Mills said.

Hernandez was driving a beige Ford Thunderbird, or similar car, with an out of state license plate, the California Highway Patrol said in the alert.

Police are asking anyone with information on the boy or his mother to contact the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4241.
