Obituary: Alvin M. Williams

A funeral for Alvin M. Williams, 69, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Williams died Feb. 12, 2002, following a sudden illness. He was born May 19, 1932, in Lunenberg, Vt.

He retired from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and spent 26 years in law enforcement for the State of Nevada. He was currently working for Carson City Paratransit.

Mr. Williams was active in Masonic activities, holding membership in Golden Lodge 50 F&AM of Reno, Nevada Chapter 13 of Reno (Past Patron), Rose Chapter 27 of Reno, Kerak Shrine of Reno, Honeylake Court 1, Order of the Amaranth in Susanville, a past Royal Patron Sierra Sage Shrine 3, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Carson City PWOS and Rainbow Pop for Carson City Assembly 7. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Third Ward.

Among his survivors are his wife Marilyn; sons Thomas and Robert, both of Phoenix, Ariz. and Dennis M.J. and Nicholas E., both of Carson City; daughters Wanda A. Williams of Seattle, Wash. and Elizabeth M. Neace of Reno; guardian of Allen J.L. Sebastian; grandchildren Kim and Kevin Williams of Phoenix, Kyla Williams and Taylor Madison Neace of Reno and two granddaughters in Seattle; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Shriners Childrens Hospital in Vacaville, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
