Trout recovery subject of public meetings

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is hosting meetings to update the public on the planning process for the recovery of the Lahontan Cutthroat trout in the Truckee River basin and the Walker River basin.

The meetings will review the current time line for the recovery process and present the short-term actions that are being recommended by the recovery teams.

Meetings for the Walker Basin are:

March 4, Yerington, Catholic Center, 6-9 p.m.

March 5, Hawthorne, Community Center, 6-9 p.m.

March 6, Coleville, Community Center, 6-9 p.m.

March 7, Bridgeport, Memorial Hall, 6-9 p.m.

March 8, Reno, Fish and Wildlife Office, 6-9 p.m.

The March 8 meeting will be for both the Walker and Truckee river basins. The meeting will be in the first floor conference room, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/BLM Building, 1340 Financial Way.
