Carson-Tahoe's first mom of 2002

It took less than an hour for the first new resident to arrive at Carson-Tahoe Hospital on New Year's Day.

The baby, a 7-pound, 11-ounce boy, was born to Kristin and Thomas Tibbling of Minden at 1:52 a.m. on Tuesday.

Kristin said they haven't named the newest member of the family yet. The couple already has a 2-year-old son.

They had just returned from a New Year's Eve party when she told her husband it was time.

"I pretty much came in and had a baby," she said.

Both Kristin and baby were doing fine Tuesday morning.

Thomas Tibbling is an engineer at Bently Nevada. He and his wife came to Nevada from Sweden to take the job at Bently. Kristin says for the time being, she's home taking care of -- now -- two children.
