Obituary Fred Parker

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday for Fred Parker, 81, a Carson City resident for 11 years. Services will be held at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Mr. Parker died Dec. 30, 2001, at his home in Carson City.

Born March 18, 1920, in Wolcott, Conn., to Charles and Nellie Griffin Parker, he was a postal worker until he retired in 1978. He married his wife, Ruth E., Aug. 9, 1942.

He moved to Carson City from South Lake Tahoe in 1990.

He enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, who died in 1998.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth; two daughters, Carol Stanley of Dayton and Debra Parker of Carson City; a sister, Ethel Barszcz of Ludlow, Mass.; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.

Inurnment will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
