Letter: Good college

It is very fortunate that Carson City has a fine community college with many departments and choices of classes. Even many senior citizens take advantage of learning, reviewing and stimulating their mental capacities.

One outstanding course has been offered for several semesters in the music department, aimed at seniors who get a price break in the cost. It is offered on Friday from 9:30-11:15 a.m. on the main campus with a very bright young man, Paul Dufau, as instructor. He is very enthusiastic and well educated in music. He loves quality, beautiful American music starting early in the 1900s. The class includes tapes, singing, piano and lots of information well researched on composers, musicians, performances and cities where it all came about. It is fun!

Any seniors who can attend this class for audit or credit every Friday morning will not be disappointed and will go home from class with music still holding its charm. To make the effort to be part of the class, it is necessary to register now or at least before mid-January for the new semester starting the week of Jan. 22. Call the WNCC admission office at 445-3277 to register by touchtone phone for Music 221, Special Studies in Music Literature. See you in class!
