Kathleen Marie Sullivan Stafford, 70, a Virginia City resident for the past 11 years, died Jan. 4, 2002, at her home as her husband held her hand. She was born March 1, 1931, in San Francisco to Michael and Deborah Sheenan Sullivan.
She attended school at Star of the Sea in San Francisco.
Mrs. Stafford was a housewife. She had worked for the U.S. Post Office.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marie Leon.
Among her survivors are her husband of 47 years Charles; children Michael Stafford, Danny Stafford, David Stafford, John Stafford and Teresa Hartz; daughter-in-law and son-in-law Laurie Stafford and Nick Hartz; grandchildren Sam Leon, Jessica and Katie Hartz and Sarah and Natalie Stafford.
A service is planned for May.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
