Foreign motorcycle enthusiasts will get their motors running

Motorcycle enthusiasts will be rolling their Rs as they arrive in Carson City for the eighth annual British-European Vintage Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet at Fuji Park today.

While judging will only be done on the British and European bikes, parts and bikes of all makes and models are welcome in the swap meet.

Event organizer Debbie Topping said they expect to have about 50 bikes signed up for judging, which starts at 11 a.m.

Included in the show will be the 1961 BSA B-40 trials bike owned by Topping's husband, Mark.

Visitors can also expect to see Dick "Bugsy" Man and Jimmy Odom, who can be seen in the 1971s documentary "On Any Sunday" starring Steve McQueen and profiling the era's flat track racers.

Gates for the show and swap meet open at 7 a.m.

Cost for the show is $2 for adults, $1 for those ages 12-17 and those under 12 are free with an adult.

Fuji Park is located on Clear Creek Road in South Carson City.
