The money is coming to the state because of changes in the law allowing the state to close out some old unclaimed property accounts and convert the assets to the state.

In addition to the added cashflow, Krolicki said the unclaimed property staff is refunding about $4.8 million to the rightful owners of previously unclaimed property.
