Virginia E. Trathen, 82, a three-year resident of Carson City, died March 1, 2002 in Carson City.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1919 in Reno to Charles and Virgin Trathen. MS. Trathen worked as a private housekeeper for several prominent families. She was a Reno resident of most of her life.
She was a member of the Reno United methodist Church and enjoyed cooking, baking and working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her sister in 1999.
She is survived by her nieces Charlotte Peterson of Stagecoach and Charlanne Orton of Virginia Beach, Va.; great nieces and nephews: Kelly Clarke and Rhonda Hoopes of Stagecoach; Elmer Orton and Leonard B. Norton Jr. of Boston, Mass. and Charlotte Parker of Norfolk, Va.; and many great-great nieces and nephews.
Burial will be Tuesday in the Mount View cemetery in Reno.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
