Gun, dope snagged in traffic stop

Four people were arrested and a stash of methamphetamine and a stolen gun confiscated during a traffic stop early Monday morning.

According to police reports, officers pulled over a speeding car in the 900 block of South Carson Street at 4:51 a.m. When contacted by deputies, the four subjects in the vehicle, Joshua Steven Krymwiede, 25; Ryan Avila, 26; Rory Evans, 33 and Jayne Hopballe, 45, agreed to a search of the car.

Avila, a transient, was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He is also accused of lying to officers about his real name. He is being held on $4,000 bail.

Hopballe, of Carson City, allegedly was in possession of a stolen gun. She was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon. Her bail was set at $25,000.

According to reports, Krymwiede, a transient, had $1,200 in cash on him and was in possession of 31.9 grams of methamphetamine. He was charged with trafficking, speeding, obstructing justice and a Sacramento County warrant for felony probation violation. He is being held without bail.

Evans, of Mound House, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for suspicion of failure to appear on a traffic citation.
