Obituary: Richard V. Winegar

Richard V. Winegar, 58, a Carson City resident for the past nine years, died March 4, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Reno, to Joseph and Vernassa Winegar.

As a child, he moved to Idaho with his parents and spent his early life and attended schools there.

He married Ronnie Casey in 1978 in California.

Mr. Winegar was the resident manager for Clear Creek Storage in Carson City. He worked for many years in the construction field as a cement finisher.

At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam Conflict.

Among his survivors are his father Joseph of Oregon; daughters Janice Drum of Dayton and Jeanette Elms of Silver City; sisters Lorraine Winegar and Joan Winegar, both of California and Diane Winegar of Idaho; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A private family service will be held.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
