Man dies from crash injuries

A Carson City man died from injuries he sustained in a Sunday morning accident on Lompa Lane.

Ellison Fallen, 86, was pronounced dead at Washoe Medical Center at 4:50 p.m. about four hours after arriving by Care Flight helicopter at the hospital.

According to the Carson City Sheriff's Department, Fallen died of multiple injury and blunt force trauma

His wife Margaret, 76, was listed in critical condition.

Sunday, at around 10:30 a.m. Fallen was attempting to make a left turn onto Lompa Lane from Royal Road when he pulled in front of a northbound 1997 Chevrolet truck driven by Edward Harper, 38, also of Carson City.

Chief Deputy Scott Burau said Harper was "going the speed limit or less," when the accident occurred.

Both Fallens had to be cut from the heavily damaged vehicle which landed a west side irrigation ditch on Lompa Lane.

Harper was treated at the scene.
