Gaming to get look at tourism conference

Current trends in gaming across the

nation and the economic outlook for

tourism are among highlights of the 19th

Annual Governor's Conference on

Tourism in Reno Dec. 9-11. The Reno-

Sparks Convention Center will be the site

of most conference events.

Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt will present

the annual Tourism Development Awards

Dec. 10 to Nevada businesses that have

created new or expanded tourism facilities.

Frank Fahrenkopf, a Reno native and

president and CEO of the American

Gaming Association, will deliver his annual

State of the Gaming Industry address to

the conference Dec. 11.

Economics Professor William

Eadington of the University of Nevada

Reno, an expert on the economic impact

of Indian-owned casinos, also is scheduled

to speak and lead a panel.
