Nevada ranks best in the nation for
entrepreneurs, and Reno ranks No. 5
among the best small metro areas to start
or grow a company, says a Massachusettsbased
consultant.
Cognetics of Watham, Mass., recently
released its "Entrepreneurial Hot Spots:
The Best Places in America to Start and
Grow a Company." It ranks the states and
regions most favored by entrepreneurs.
"The rankings are a direct result of
hard-fought battles to keep business taxes
low in Nevada," said Harry York chief
executive officer of the Reno-Sparks
Chamber of Commerce.
The other cities in the top five for
entrepreneurs, the Cognetics study said,
are Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Charleston,
S.C. and Austin, Texas.
An August survey conducted by Site
Selection Magazine gave Nevada's business
climate a top 10 ranking by real
estate executives.
