New firm markets utility pole production

Utility poles produced by The Pacific

Wood Preserving Co. at Silver Springs will

be sold in the western United States

through a newly created joint venture.

Pacific Wood Preserving joined with

North Pacific Group Inc. to create North

Pacific Pole LLC, a venture to sell poles to

utilities and contractors in the West. All

utility poles produced at the plant at Silver

Springs as well as those produced at the

Pacific Wood Preserving plant at Sheridan,

Ore., will be marketed by the new company.

North Pacific Group is based in

Portland, Ore. Pacific Wood Preserving is

headquartered in Bakersfield, Calif.
