George B. Russell of Carson City has been awarded the designation of Knight of York Cross of Honour, by the York Rite of Freemasonry. He was the 4,414th in 23 years with three million members.

Roland Westergard has been appointed director of the Department of Natural Resources, Governor-elect Richard Bryan announced today.

First Lieutenant Mark A. Gregory, 35, of Carson City, has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the Nevada Army National Guard. promotion ceremonies hosted by Maj. Gen. Tony Clark, adjutant general for the guard. Pinning by his father Col. (Retired) Robert J. Gregory and Captain's wife, Sandra.
