Emalene "Sissy" Guffey, 74, a Topaz Lake resident for the past 13 years, died Nov. 14, 2002, at Carson Convalescent Center.
She was born March 4, 1928, in San Diego, Calif., to Barney A. and Mildred Fivecoat Cooper.
Before moving to Topaz Lake, she lived in San Diego.
She was a homemaker and member of Eastern Star, the Topaz Sage Hens Homemakers Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Emory Guffey.
Among her survivors are: sons James Lee and Charles Leroy, both of Topaz Lake; sister, Dorothy Young of San Diego; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; a niece; a nephew and a great-niece.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
