Gaming executives headed to Tahoe

More than 55 gaming executives from

11 countries, including the People's

Republic of China, will attend the

University of Nevada, Reno's annual

Executive Development Program Oct. 21-

29 at Harvey's Resort Hotel/Casino at

Lake Tahoe.

Convened by the University of Nevada,

Reno's, Institute for the Study of Gambling

and Commercial Gaming and the College

of Extended Studies, the program delivers

industry-specific sessions to international

gaming executives on such gaming topics as

managing struggling properties, dealing

with social impacts in the community and

establishing strategies in competitive gaming

jurisdictions.

This year, participants in the program

represent 11 countries: Australia,Austria,

Canada, Great Britain,Netherlands Antilles,

People's Republic of China, Portugal,

Slovenia, South Africa,Uruguay and the

United States, including several states and

Native American gaming operations.

Past years have seen representatives

from such countries as Finland, France,

Kenya, The Netherlands,New Zealand,

Nova Scotia, The Philippines, Puerto Rico,

Venezuela and others.
