Final results issued in Washoe election

Final unofficial results were released Monday in Saturday's Washoe Tribal Council election for chairman and other officials.

The results show four-term incumbent council Chairman Brian Wallace garnered 222 votes. His closest challenger, Alfred C. Granados, received 126 votes.

The "final abstract" of the vote count showed chairman candidate Benny Mills received 82 votes, Joseph A. Sam and Kathie Wyatt got 22 each, and Steven Dexter garnered 16.

Candidates who dispute the results have until Friday to take their case to the tribal election committee.
