-- "Prayer 9-11," a remembrance and memorial service to celebrate culmination of monthly prayer sessions at 7 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. An opportunity for the community to pray for the victims, their families and friends of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Call 883-5215.

-- Carson City 9-11 Tribute, 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Carson Nugget. Sponsored by Soroptimist International and The Salvation Army, with master of ceremonies Judge John Tatro. Cost $15 per person, buffet lunch. Call 887-9120.

-- "Pray for America," open prayer hour from noon to 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Family Life Center, corner of North Nevada and West Musser streets. Call 882-1032.

-- Gov. Kenny Guinn marks the anniversary of the terrorist attacks at 1 p.m. at the Capitol, with firefighters raising the flag, a 21-gun salute, high school band performances, a military fly-over and guest speakers.

-- The public is invited to a Sept. 11 ceremony at the Carson Plaza Retirement facility, 2120 E. Long St., at 2 p.m. in the garden. A special thanks will be given to local firemen. The program includes guest speakers and refreshments. Call 883-1221.

-- Free patriotic tap dancing performance from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carson Rehabilitation Center, 700 E. Long St., by the Taperaza Dance Group of Reno. Call 882-5845.

-- Lyon County Community Prayer Gathering is planned for 6 p.m. at Penney Park, corner of Donner Trail and Truckee in Silver Springs. The event is to honor heroes and remember victims. Food and drink provided. Call 577-0404.
