Lori Williams was named interim general
manager of the Truckee Meadow Water
Authority last week, after the previous GM,
Malyn Malquist, resigned.
Williams was most recently director of
water operations at TMWA. The water
authority board will consider her permanent
appointment at its Oct. 9 meeting.
"I have witnessed firsthand the professionalism and cohesiveness
that Lori brings to TMWA," said Tony Armstrong,
TMWA chairman of the board, in a prepared statement. "The
board is 100 percent behind the decision."
Malquist, who has served as GM since May 2001, is moving
to Spokane, Wash., where he will serve as a senior vice
president of energy firm Avista Corp.
