Ron Schmitt has been named executive
director of the Sparks Chamber of Commerce.
He'll begin work in the position Oct. 1.
Schmitt previously was vice-president and
owner of Reno Construction, Inc., a firm he
launched in 1998. He has worked for
Q & D Construction as a project manager
and as the maintenance supervisor for the
Reno Housing Authority.
He also is a member of the Sparks City
Council.
In the community, Schmitt serves on the
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Board and is a
law enforcement chaplain. He serves as the
deacon for his parish. His memberships
include the Sparks Chamber of Commerce,
Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce,
Associated Builders and Contractors,
EDAWN and WIN. He is a past member of
the Sparks Planning Commission, RTC
Disability Advisory Board and Sparks
Citizens' Advisory Council.
