Out & About: Community Calendar Of Events & Activities

Spring is here, and events for all ages keep popping up everywhere.

Friday through Sunday is National Youth Service Day. All youth are invited to get involved in service projects to improve or beautify their communities.

Thanks to Ron Wood Family Resource Center and the Mentor Center of Western Nevada Community College who designed the "Stand Tall, Don't Fall" program to fit that bill.

Information on the Fremont Elementary School "Wall Ball" project is below.

Carson City Girl Scouts are doing their annual food drive for Salvation Army's "Easter Bunny Food Baskets." This program directly helps 25 needy families receive a ham dinner with all the traditional trimmings. Scouts need donations of hams for the baskets. Please call to see when to drop one off to help these families enjoy a wonderful Easter meal.

Carson City Kiwanis is teaming up with Carson City Jaycees to co-sponsor a communitywide "Italian Feast" Spaghetti Feed with bingo and prizes. The proceeds will help the Senior Center's Meals on Wheels and the Carson City Sheriff's Reserve Santa Program.

These events will keep you hopping through Easter. Happy spring!
