said figures from the Small Business Administration show it ranks first in northern Nevada in the number of SBA loans it made in rural markets and in the number of 7(a) loans it made.

A 7(a) loan is guaranteed by SBA but funded through a lending institution.

From October through February, SBA figures show 63 percent of the 7(a) loans made by Wells Fargo in Nevada were in its northern region.

Forty-one percent of those loans were in rural markets.
