LAS VEGAS -- Being a senior citizen doesn't get a Las Vegas man a break in federal court.
U.S. District Judge Lloyd George on Monday sentenced Joseph Marshall, age 69, to more than 20 years in federal prison for conspiracy and sales of cocaine .
According to U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden, the court found Marshall was a career offender with at least two prior convictions for crimes of violence or drug violations. He said that significantly increases his sentence in the case.
Marshall was convicted of buying a kilogram of cocaine in 2002.
He was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison plus, five years of supervised release.
