Shirley M. Broughton, 77, a Carson City and Northern Nevada resident for the past 20 years, died April 27, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
She was born June 16,1925, in Kelso, Wash., to William and Margaret Kummer Boyden.
Before moving to this area, she lived in Santa Rosa, Calif.
She married Roy Broughton on July 31, 1949, in Oakland, Calif.
Mrs. Broughton was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her dog Tico and entertaining family and friends. She loved cooking and taking care of her family.
Among her survivors are her husband, Roy Broughton of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, James Allan and Nadine Broughton of Sacramento; stepson, Thomas Broughton of Montana; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Lynn and Greg Sanders of Sacramento; stepdaughter, Diane Schuler; and grandchildren Derek and Ryan Truax.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
