Obituary: Tanya Barker-Bynum

A memorial service for Tanya Barker-Bynum, 56, a Carson City resident for the past 17 years, will be at 3 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Barker-Bynum died Aug. 8, 2003, in Carson City. She was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Braintree, England, to Walter J. and Maureen McClean Barker.

She married Ken E. Bynum.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Marysville, Calif.

Mrs. Barker-Bynum was a homemaker. She enjoyed visiting friends and talking about current events and politics. She loved her three dogs.

She was preceded in death by her son, Perry Beard December 1988.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; daughters Jamie Beard-Shallcross of San Diego and Michala Needleman of Atlanta; and her mother of Braintree.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
