Marud has been named vice president of exploration for Renobased Meridian Gold.
Marud has worked for Meridian since 1997 as its South American exploration manager.
Marud, a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, previously worked in North and South America, for several companies including Homestake Mining and FMC Gold Company.
