Dorothy Parlanti

A funeral for Dorothy Parlanti, 82, a Dayton resident for the past six years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Walton's.

Mrs. Parlanti died Dec. 6, 2003, in Dayton. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Baker City, Ore., to Harry Oren and Hazel Nicatie Metcalf Brown.

She married Red Bower who died in 1958. She then married Albert Parlanti, who died in 1982.

Mrs. Parlanti was a Protestant and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Spirit Filled in Sparks. She was a past member of Rebekah Lodge in Reno. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers John Brown in 1977, Jimmy Brown in 1932 and O.L. Brown in 1928.

Among her survivors are her sons Robert Bower of Dayton and Ernie Bower of Silver Springs; daughter, Patricia Marks of Sun Valley; sisters Patsy Willis of Enterprise, Ore., Betty Mincer of Fairfield, Calif., Charlotte Dorf of Sun Valley and Donna Dees of Prineville, Ore.; brothers Frank Brown and Tommy Brown, both of Sun Valley, Tudy Brown of Sparks and Jack Brown of Modesto, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Burial will be at the Dayton Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
