A memorial Mass for John Michael Sweeney, 75, a Minden resident for the past three years, will be at noon Friday at St. Pius (X) Catholic Church in Tucson, Ariz.
Mr. Sweeney died Jan. 30, 2003, in Minden. He was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Chicago to W. Joseph and Julia Parker Sweeney.
He married Anna Mae Yothment March 31, 1951, in Griffith, Ind. She preceded him in death.
Before moving to Minden, he lived in Tucson for many years.
Mr. Sweeney was owner of A&J Sheet Metal in Tucson. He was a member of the Rotary Club.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Among his survivors are his children Michael, Margie, Kevin, Bridget, Tim, Tom, Erin and Kristy and 19 grandchildren.
