Obituary for Mary F. Brown

Mary F. Brown, 91, a Carson City resident for the past 26 years, died Jan. 21, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born March 21, 1911, in Harrisonburg, Va., to Camden and Alice Hawkins Hogg.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Glendora, Calif., from 1969 to 1977, having lived in Covina, Calif., and Indianapolis.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was a volunteer for the City of Hope in Southern California in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reeves Brown; brother, Joseph Hogg; and sister, Margaret Pruett.

Among her survivors are her son, John C. Brown of Reno; daughter, Jo Turner of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; four nieces and two nephews.

No service is scheduled.

Private family inurnment was held at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
