Many businesses closed for President's Day

Many businesses will be closed today to mark President's Day.

All schools in the Carson City School District will be closed, but Nevada's representatives in the Legislature will be working as usual.

Limited to 120 calendar days, legislators don't have the luxury of days off. They'll be getting under way around 9 a.m. after flights arrive with Southern Nevada legislators returning after the long weekend.

While most senior centers in the region will be closed, including Douglas County, Dayton, Storey County, Silver Springs and Fernley, the Carson City Senior Center will be open.

All municipal offices are closed for President's Day. Carson City and Douglas County libraries will be closed.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St., will be open.
