Investigation continues into nurse accused of fondling

The Carson City sheriff's investigation is continuing into six more accusations against a male nurse who admitted to fondling two women in Carson-Tahoe Hospital's emergency room.

No additional charges have been filed, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Jason Laurie, 28, was arrested Feb. 14 after a woman reported he sexually violated her while she was heavily medicated.

Police said Laurie told them he had fondled her and another sedated woman.

Since his arrest on suspicion of felony sexual assault and two misdemeanor counts of open and gross lewdness, six more women have stepped forward claiming similar assaults.

Laurie, a Gardnerville man who has worked at the hospital for two years, is being held at the Carson City jail with his bail set at $55,000.

He was fired from his job and his license was suspended pending a formal hearing next month.
