Toddler, men injured in Highway 50 crash

Two men were taken by Care Flight to Washoe Medical Center and a 1 1/2-year-old child was taken to Carson Tahoe Medical Center after a four-vehicle accident on Highway 50 Saturday night.

A preliminary investigation shows a Ford pickup, driven by Chas Wassmuth, struck a Dodge Colt driven by James D. Campbell as Campbell was turning left from Eastbound Highway 50 onto Mark Twain Avenue.

The impact pushed the Colt into oncoming traffic where it was struck by another Ford pickup driven by Robert Collins, and a Dodge pickup driven by William Hinkley.

Campbell and his passenger, Jonathan Wills, were taken by Care Flight to Washoe Medical Center, where they are listed in critical condition. A 1 1/2-year-old child riding in the back of the Colt was taken to Carson Tahoe Medical Center with minor injuries.
